Incredible Alisson stop lands fourth-straight Save of the Month nod

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has received yet another Premier League Save of the Month nomination. That's four straight now.

Alisson Becker has once again been nominated for the Premier League's Save of the Month award. The Brazilian has now made the cut in every month this season - the only goalkeeper to do so.

Even more remarkably, he did it on a day when he firmly wasn't at his best. Alisson struggled against Manchester City last weekend, taking the blame for the hosts' opener.

He still produced magic for Liverpool, though, and it's his save from Phil Foden's low drive that gets him recognised this month.

It's a sensational stop. Alisson does brilliantly to get down for the save, while his positioning was predictably perfect just to make it all a possibility. Saves like this are why, even with a few errors, Liverpool consider him to be the world's best.

Alisson's four nominations have landed him the award this season, too. He was August's winner for an incredible stop against Newcastle - one that like against City, ended up saving a positive result for Liverpool.

The Reds' no.1 is thriving once again this season. Not only are there the spectacular saves but he also leads the Premier League in save percentage.

The advanced metrics show Alisson to be in fantastic form, too. Post-shot Expected Goals scores the liklihood of a goal after a shot has been taken - essentially, it judges the chance of a goalkeeper being able to stop it. Subtract the actual goals conceded from that stat and you have a number of goals the goalkeeper has prevented that your average goalkeeper wouldn't have.

Alisson is second in the Premier League right now, with Liverpool conceding 3 fewer goals than they should have. It's also a metric he led the Premier League in last season, preventing an extra 10 goals compared to your average goalkeeper.
