"In Premier League history" - Trent Alexander-Arnold praises Andy Robertson
Trent Alexander-Arnold has praised his full-back partner Andy Robertson in a recent interview.
Speaking to Liverpool FC, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Trent said that Robertson will go down as one of the best left-backs in Premier League history.
“For the last few years, he has been outstanding. For me, he will go down as one of the best left-backs that this league’s ever seen,” said Trent.
“He offers so much for us. There’s the consistency across the board and then also the fact that so far he’s not had many injuries where he’s missed many games, which is also a quality in itself – to always be fit for every game and be ready.
“The biggest thing about Robbo is his consistency. That’s the hardest thing in football. You can have a good game and a lot of players will have a good game or 10 good games or a good season but it’s very hard to continue that over many seasons.
"And to continuously guarantee you’re going to be a solid player for every single game. We’ve both been praised a lot over the last few years for the way we play and what we’ve brought to the game, and I think he’s been deserving of every single bit of applause he’s had."
Anfield Watch Verdict
Since joining Liverpool in 2017 for a reported fee of £8m from Hull City, Robertson has provided 52 assists in all competitions for Liverpool.
No one knew at that point that he would go on to become one of Liverpool's best ever left-backs and also solidify himself as the best left-back in Premier League history.
The Scotland captain is still only 28-years-old and he hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. With having already amassed 217 games for Liverpool, we could see that number easily double after he signed a new contract in the summer of 2021, which will keep him at Anfield until 2026.
Whatever happens in the future, we're thankful for the 'Flying Scotsman’s' contributions to one of Liverpool's greatest ever sides.
