"I’m still in close contact" - Adam Lallana on his time at Liverpool

Former Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has revealed that he is still in close contact with his old teammates.

The Reds signed the Englishman from Southampton for a transfer fee of £27.90 million back in the summer of 2014.

Lallana found the back of the net 22 times and secured 22 assists in 178 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

The midfielder also won the Champions League, Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League title with the Reds.

Therefore, we aren't surprised that Lallana is still in contact with his ex-teammates.

“I look back on my time there with very fond memories. I’m still in close contact with a lot of the lads," he told talkSPORT, as quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter.

“I still do pick up off them about how they recover, how relentless their schedule is, how they sacrifice so much to have to play for that football club.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

It's brilliant to hear that Lallana is still heavily invested in how Liverpool are travelling. He is a fan at heart.

On another note, as we have already pointed out, Lallana was a decent player for Liverpool. But, there is no denying that he could have achieved more at Anfield.

Lallana struggled to stay fit during his time at Liverpool, which meant that he did not fulfill his potential.

The midfielder left the Reds and signed for Brighton and Hove Albion on a free transfer back in the summer of 2020.

Lallana contributed towards Brighton's 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford last Sunday. The Red Devils are obviously Liverpool's biggest rivals.

So, it was nice to see Lallana doing his thing against Manchester United last weekend.
