Dominik Szoboszlai feels he's getting back to the fitness levels he's used to after having to endure a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The Hungarian has endured a tricky time for the last couple of months, suffering a reoccurring hamstring injury that left him on the treatment table for a total of 12 games.

But after netting in both legs of Liverpool's Europa League demolition of Sparta Prague, Szoboszlai looks like he's finally rediscovering his rhythm in a Reds shirt.

While still not at the level of fitness he was at the beginning of the season, the midfielder insists he's getting closer to returning to peak shape.

“To be honest, I’ve been fitter before,” he told the club's official website. “But I’m coming now to the shape that I was.

“I just needed games so with the games it’s going to come, everything.

“After my first injury [in January] maybe it was a quick comeback. So, we learned from it and now I was not in a rush and I just wanted to be healthy and now I’m ready to go.”

Szoboszlai will hope to feature against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon as the Reds look to book their place in the FA Cup semi-finals.

A mammoth clash that will always leave fans excited, the midfielder is determined to build off Liverpool's last outing against the Red Devils - which saw Jurgen Klopp's side fail to score despite dominating their opponents outright for 90 minutes.

“It’s very good,” Szoboszlai added. “It’s never boring for us and probably for the fans as well!

“It’s hard but we have to be ready for all the competitions, we are fighting for the [Premier League] title but that’s why we play football, and [it is] probably what everybody loves.

"In the last game we drew 0-0 with them [in the Premier League in December] and we had about 35 [shots], but now we have to score them!”
