"I'm not worried" - Danny Murphy on Liverpool's top four hopes

Former Liverpool player Danny Murphy has given his thoughts on the race for the top four.

The Reds have had a slow start to the 2022-23 Premier League campaign. Liverpool have only accumulated 10 points from a possible 24.

But, Murphy is confident that Jurgen Klopp's team will finish inside the top four.

“Liverpool will finish fourth I think,” he told Fair Betting Sites, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

“On (Jurgen) Klopp, he can’t change his philosophy and his way of managing that’s given so much success overnight.

"For me, it’s just about being on top of players, reinforcing the messages and making sure they’re training at a high level because performances don’t improve unless your training is at it.

“There’s a lot of honest players in that squad to look at themselves, and I’m concerned, but I’m not worried. The cream always rises to the top.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

We do agree with Murphy that Liverpool will secure a top four finish. The Reds competed for the quadruple last campaign, so they are a very capable side.

But, Liverpool will have to get back to their best if they are to secure Champions League football for next season.

Missing out on Europe would be a huge blow for the club. The best players in the world want to play in the Champions League.

So, Liverpool need to be competing in the aforementioned competition if they are to sign world-class footballers next summer.

Fingers crossed the Reds can get the job done this season.
