“I’m not a striker" - Mohamed Salah on his position

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah believes that he is a winger rather than a striker.

Many people in the media have claimed that the Egyptian international is a striker. Salah's goal tally this season certainly suggests that he is.

The 29-year-old has found the back of the net 30 times in 45 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

However, Salah has reminded everyone that he is registering the aforementioned figures from the wing.

As quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter, he told The Mirror the following: “I’m not a striker. I’m not a striker because I play as a winger. I don’t play No.9, I play on the wing. It’s completely different when you play as a winger. People count me as a striker, but they shouldn’t because I don’t play as a striker.

"In our last game (against Villarreal), (Diogo) Jota was our striker and we have (Sadio) Mane as a No.9. I’m never been a No.9. I’m just focused in every game to try and help the team win games and that’s the most important thing. Once the team wins, I’m happy.”

Salah definitely vacates the right wing for the majority of a football match. So, the Egyptian international is definitely correct in saying that he is a wide player.

In saying that, Liverpool do have a very interchangeable front three. The Reds have been so good going forward this season.

Liverpool have scored 86 goals in 34 Premier League matches. Jurgen Klopp's side are strong in every department, which is why they have challenged for major honours in recent times.

But, the attack is the most exciting aspect of Klopp's team as far as we are concerned. There is nothing better than seeing your side score goals on a regular basis.
