"I'm delighted" - Roberto Firmino on reaching 100 goals for Liverpool
Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has opened up on what it feels like to have scored 100 goals for the club's first-team.
The Brazilian said that he is "delighted" to have reached the aforementioned milestone.
Firmino further added that he is thrilled to be back representing the club having suffered a few injuries in recent times.
"I'm delighted to reach the milestone of 100 goals in a Liverpool shirt, representing such a great club. I've evolved. I had a few injuries that held me back last season," he told the Liverpool Echo, as quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter.
"Thank God I'm back this season, I feel good, highly motivated for the upcoming games and competitions we're competing in.
"I have to continue working hard here (at Liverpool), that's what I've been doing. Of course, I dream of being at the World Cup."
Anfield Watch Verdict
Firmino has had a decent start to the 2022-23 campaign. The forward has scored three goals and registered three assists in eight appearances for Liverpool's senior side.
Firmino has also averaged a WhoScored player rating of 7.09 across the early stages of the season. The 30-year-old is certainly not the player that he used to be.
But, the aforementioned figures highlight that Firmino is still playing decent football. Hopefully Liverpool's No.9 can propel the Reds towards a trophy this campaign.
Firmino is arguably coming towards the end of his time at Anfield, so it's important that he makes every minute count.
