"I’m blessed" - James Milner names the player that he loves to train with

Liverpool midfielder James Milner has recently been talking about teammate Mohamed Salah.

The 36-year-old stated that he is "blessed" to train alongside the winger. Milner further added that Salah is "right up there" with the best players in the world.

“For me, he is right up there – the goals he’s scoring, the numbers he’s putting up consistently, goals and assists," the midfielder told the club’s official website.

“Obviously I might be slightly biased – and I’m blessed as well because I get to train with him every day and see how good he is in training as well – but I think he has to be the best over the recent months and hopefully long may it continue.

“He’s special. Some of the goals he’s scoring at times, you just have to stop and applaud them really.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

We completely agree with Milner's take. Salah is clearly one of the best footballers in the world, so it would be an honour to train with him.

There is a reason why the winger has won two Premier League Golden Boots in the past.

Salah is having a very good season. The Egyptian international has scored 23 goals and registered nine assists in 26 appearances.

Salah has also been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.70 across the 2021-22 campaign.

With the 29-year-old showing no signs of slowing down, we would like to see the club lock him down to a new contract.

Salah has made it clear that he would like to remain at Anfield going forward, but only if he receives an offer which is reflective of his performances.

The forward's current contract expires in the summer of 2023, so hopefully a new deal is sorted out soon.

Only time will tell if Salah and the club are to agree on new terms.
