"If I'm being honest" - Journalist weighs in on Jurgen Klopp's contract situation
The Liverpool Echo's Ian Doyle has recently been talking about the future of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
The German's managerial contract expires in the summer of 2024. Doyle is under the impression that Klopp will not look to extend his stay at Anfield.
The journalist implied that the 54-year-old will be worn out by the time his current deal ends.
"I don't think Klopp will extend his contract, if I'm being honest," said Doyle, as quoted by Anfield Edition's Twitter account. "It's worth bearing in mind that when he reaches the end of his current deal in 2024, he'll have been in the hotseat almost nine years."Anfield Watch Verdict
Liverpool signed Klopp back in October 2015. The German has done a superb job at Anfield.
Klopp has won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League title with the Reds.
The 54-year-old has very little to prove. Therefore, we don't see Klopp looking to extend his stay at Anfield.
Also, as Doyle implied, the German may be feeling a bit mentally drained from coaching the club. Klopp has been at Liverpool for quite some time.
But, only time will tell what the future holds for Klopp.
