"I'd probably say Hendo" - Jude Bellingham praises Jordan Henderson

Borussia Dortmund player Jude Bellingham has praised Liverpool midfielder and England teammate Jordan Henderson.

The 32-year-old is a superb role model. There is a reason why Henderson is the captain of the Reds.

With that being the case, we are not remotely surprised that Bellingham has labelled Liverpool's No.14 as the most professional player he has played with at national level.

He told Sky Sports the following: “I’d probably say Hendo. He’s always doing extra, always working so hard on the pitch. Even in the gym he is always putting it in.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool signed Henderson from Sunderland for a transfer fee of £16.20 million back in the summer of 2011.

Since then, Henderson has gone on to score 33 goals and register 58 assists in 450 appearances for the club's first-team.

The midfielder has won the Champions League, Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Premier League title, League Cup (x2), FA Cup and the Community Shield with the Reds.

Henderson is contracted until the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign. The 32-year-old averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.86 across 35 Premier League fixtures last season.

The aforementioned figures highlight that he is far from done at the top level, which is obviously a good thing.

The club did try to offload Henderson to Fulham back in 2012. However, he was determined to fight for his place, and we are so glad that he did.

"That was a difficult moment I remember very clearly," Henderson told Sky Sports.

"We were preparing for a (Europa League qualifying) game against Hearts at Anfield. We met as normal in the hotel and I got a knock on my door saying the manager wanted to speak to us.

"To be fair to Brendan Rodgers, it was really just a conversation. It was an opportunity (to leave for Fulham) I didn't want and I didn't like. I still felt I had an awful lot to give."
