"I’d love to see him play under Klopp" - Radio host on Arsenal forward
Adrian Durham believes that Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka would be a good signing for Liverpool.
The talkSPORT host implied that the England international could leave the Gunners if they fail to qualify for the 2022-23 Champions League campaign.
Arsenal currently sit in sixth-place on the Premier League table (need to finish fourth or higher), which means that they are a fair chance of missing out on qualification for Europe's elite competition.
With that being the case, Durham has urged the Reds to sign Saka.
As quoted by This Is Futbol, Durham told talkSPORT: “If Arsenal don’t make top four this season, his talents belong on the Champions League stage. I think he is made for Liverpool. I think he’s the perfect Liverpool player with the energy he’s got, his attitude, everything. I’d love to see him play under Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool in that system."
Saka, who is contracted until the end of the 2023-24 campaign, possesses a current market value of €65 million.
Anfield Watch Verdict
Saka is a very talented forward. The winger has scored 19 goals and secured 26 assists in 116 appearances for Arsenal's first-team.
Saka has also found the back of the net four times in 14 games for England's senior side.
Former Gunner Ian Wright is certainly a big fan of Saka.
As quoted by Football London, the 58-year-old said the following on ITV back in July 2021: “We’re talking about someone that joined Arsenal’s academy at age seven.
“He’s progressed through, he’s always been somebody that’s played at a higher level. He’s played for England since he was 16, he’s played at every level.
“He’s not just arrived here, he’s somebody that was destined to do what he’s doing right now.
“That’s why everyone at Arsenal knows what he’s capable of, and we’re seeing it right now.”
The aforementioned figures/comments highlight that the England international is clearly capable of handling the pressure of playing for a big club.
Therefore, we do believe that he would settle into life at Anfield reasonably quickly. Hopefully Liverpool do make a move for Saka in the near future. The forward would suit most top sides, as he is a talented footballer.
