Poland national team manager Czeslaw Michniewicz has revealed that he would like to see Liverpool sign Robert Lewandowski this summer.

The forward has publicly stated that his time at Bayern Munich has come to an end. With that being the case, there is plenty of talk about Lewandowski's future.

Michniewicz, who is a Liverpool supporter, said that he would like to see his club make a move for the 33-year-old.

“I’d like to see Lewandowski in Liverpool since I'm a supporter of the club," he said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo and Anfield Watch on Twitter.

Even though Lewandowski is at the backend of his career, we would not be against Liverpool signing the forward.

He scored 50 goals in 46 appearances for Bayern Munich last season. Lewandowski could do a job for a couple of years whilst the Reds scout the next big thing in world football.

The forward has worked with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp in the past (Borussia Dortmund). As you can read below, Lewandowski certainly respects the German.

“Jurgen was not only a father figure to me,” he told The Player’s Tribune last year.

“As a coach, he was like the ‘bad’ teacher. And I mean that in the best sense of the word.

“He was not content to let you be a B student, you know? Jurgen wanted A+ students. He didn’t want it for him. He wanted it for you. He taught me so much. When I arrived at Dortmund, I wanted to do everything quickly: strong pass, one touch only. Jurgen showed me to calm down — to take two touches if necessary.

“It was totally against my nature, but soon I was scoring more goals. When I had that down, he challenged me to speed it up again. One touch. BANG. Goal. He slowed me down to speed me up. It sounds simple, but it was genius, really.”

Lewandowski is out of contract at the conclusion of next season. So, Liverpool will have to fork out a transfer fee if they wish to sign him.

However, the Reds have not genuinely been linked with a move for Lewandowski.
