Ibrahima Konate opens up on what he wants to achieve with Liverpool this season
Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konate has revealed what he wants to achieve this season.
The Reds signed the Frenchman from RB Leipzig for a transfer fee of €40 million back in the summer. Konate is yet to nail down a spot in Jurgen Klopp's starting XI.
The defender has only made four appearances for Liverpool so far this season. But, Konate is only 22 years of age, so he has time on his side.
In the short-term, Konate is aiming to help Liverpool win the 2021-22 Premier League title.
Konate told the club’s official website the following: "Who doesn’t have this ambition to win the Premier League? But for now I think we need to be focused game by game."
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Konate's aforementioned comments highlight that he possesses the mentality of a winner.
We believe that Liverpool can win the Premier League title this season. After 11 matches, the Reds sit in fourth-place on the table.
Liverpool are four points behind league leaders Chelsea. The aforementioned figures highlight that the Reds are reasonably well-placed to challenge for the title this season.
But, there is no denying that Klopp's side will have to lift their game if they are to claim the 2021-22 trophy.
