"I would’ve loved to support them" - Trent Alexander-Arnold on Liverpool

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has said that it's special to represent the club right now.

The Reds have won six major trophies in the past four years under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp.

Alexander-Arnold has been an integral part of the German's side. The 23-year-old has scored 12 goals and registered 62 assists in 225 appearances.

However, despite the fact that Alexander-Arnold is enjoying playing for the Reds, there is a part of him that wishes he was watching Klopp's team as a supporter.

The defender was a Liverpool fan growing up after all.

As quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter, Alexander-Arnold told the Blockasset podcast the following: "I always feel a little bit jealous that I’m not able to watch this team now. The fact I’m playing in it, I always think, ‘I would’ve loved to watch this team, I would’ve loved to support them winning every game, winning trophies every year'.

"What more can you ask for? But to be a part of it is just so special. It’s been timed perfectly for me with the manager and the players we’ve been able to recruit.

“Just the whole infrastructure of the club with quite relatively new owners over the last two decades or so and it’s just aligned perfectly. The manager is perfect for the club, the players, it’s been a long time coming.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

We can see where Alexander-Arnold is coming from. There is nothing better than supporting a world-class football team.

Liverpool are very much that at the moment. No one that supports the club should be taking the Klopp era for granted.

Trophies are not easy to win in football. So, no Liverpool fan should be thinking that these times will last forever.
