Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has opened up on why he is desperate to win the Premier League title again.

Back in 2020, the Reds won the league title under Klopp. But, due to the pandemic, no supporters were inside Anfield when club captain Jordan Henderson lifted the trophy.

However, the restrictions in relation to the pandemic have since eased in the United Kindgom. Fans have been allowed to attend Premier League fixtures for the entire 2021-22 campaign.

With that being the case, Klopp would like to win the league title with the Anfield faithful in attendance.

"I would like to win the Premier League at Liverpool in my lifetime with supporters," the German told BT Sport, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account. "Last season was madness (because of injuries). To finish third - wow. The fact we did it in the end was absolutely incredible. I loved the third-place last year as much as I have ever loved third-place. "We had a really good squad last year but we had players unavailable. That is already completely different."

Anfield Watch Verdict

We can see where Klopp is coming from. Yes, the 2019-20 season is still special because Liverpool ended a 30-year league title drought.

Unfortunately, no one witnessed the trophy lift live. But, things could be very different come the end of this season.

Klopp's dream of winning a league title with Liverpool in front of the supporters could become a reality. With eight games to go, the Reds are only one-point behind league leaders Manchester City.

The Citizens are still in control. However, there is no denying that they would be slightly concerned Liverpool are only one-point behind them.

We are in for an exciting finish to the 2021-22 Premier League season.
