"I want to take advantage" - Luis Diaz on his dream of winning the Champions League

Liverpool forward Luis Diaz has said that it is a dream of his to win the Champions League final.

The Reds signed the Colombia international from Porto for a transfer fee of £42.30 million back in January.

Since then, Diaz has scored six goals and registered five assists in 25 appearances for the club's first-team.

In other words, he has helped Liverpool secure a place in this season's Champions League final against Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old has made it clear that he would like nothing more than to beat the La Liga giants at the Stade de France tomorrow night.

As quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter, he told the Independent the following: "I have dreamed of winning the Champions League. Even more so against a team like Real Madrid, for me I am living a great dream. I want to take advantage of these moments and be happy.

"There are no favourites (considered) here. We know that a final is contested minute-by-minute. We are going to give 100 per cent. We know what we have to do.

"Clearly, we know what Real Madrid have – what a great team they are, the experience they have – but we also have a great squad and our great game and we are going to counteract what they do.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Real Madrid are a top club. So, we can understand why Diaz is desperate to get one over them.

We can also understand why it is a dream of Diaz's to win the Champions League. It is the biggest trophy a team can win in club football.

Hopefully Diaz and the boys can get the job done tomorrow night. The Reds are gunning for their seventh European Cup.
