Leicester City midfielder Harvey Barnes has recently been talking about Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian international is coming off a superb 2021-22 campaign. Salah found the back of the net 31 times and secured 16 assists in 51 appearances for the Reds.

With that being the case, Barnes has revealed that he watches the 30-year-old for inspiration.

As quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter, he told Football Daily the following: "You look at last year, Salah (and Son from Tottenham Hotspur), the amount of goals they scored. They're probably two of the best in the league at running in behind and getting them balls in the most dangerous positions.

"So for me, it's taking bits out of their games, why are they scoring so many goals, what are they doing? I want to add that to my game."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Salah is one of the best wingers in the world. There is a reason why he has won three Premier League Golden Boots.

So, Barnes is spot on. He could learn quite a bit by simply watching Salah.

There was plenty of talk regarding the Egyptian international's future last season. Salah's initial contract was set to expire at the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign.

However, the forward has since signed a new deal, which is 0bvioulsy great news for those associated with Liverpool. Salah will be a Red until the summer of 2025.

It will be nice not having to discuss the 30-year-old's future at any point this season. At times throughout the 2021-22 campaign, we forgot football matches were being played.

Salah's future was the main talking point. But, that's in the past now. Hopefully Salah can propel Liverpool towards a trophy or two this season.
