"I think we played a good game" - Jurgen Klopp on the performance against Arsenal
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given his opinion on his team's performance against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium yesterday.
The Gunners defeated the Reds 3-2 to remain at the top of the Premier League table.
Despite that being the case, Klopp believes Liverpool played reasonably well yesterday.
"Arsenal are doing really well and in the situation I think we played a good game," he told the BBC, as quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter.
"Conceding the three goals, it had nothing to do with the game really. We have to win challenges in these moments. They should not get in these situations but it happened."
Anfield Watch Verdict
We don't agree with Klopp's take. Yes, there were times when Liverpool were on top against Arsenal.
But, the Gunners deserved the three points. They played with greater intensity and caused Liverpool's back four plenty of problems.
The Reds were just clinical when they went forward, which is why they scored two goals. It was concerning to see Liverpool concede three goals.
The Reds have shipped 12 goals in eight Premier League fixtures. It's very simple. If Liverpool want to win football games, they will need to tighten up defensively as soon as possible.
We wish the team all the very best for the remainder of the season.
