Kevin De Bruyne has spoken about Manchester City and Liverpool's rivalry ahead of Sunday's fixture.

Speaking to the Metro, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the Manchester City midfielder has praised Liverpool, saying 'they're great' before the Premier League title decider on the weekend.

"I think they’re great," said De Bruyne. "I feel like there are two teams fighting each other so much and both know what it takes to keep pushing and pushing and we are the only teams to have done that for the last five years.

"I like the big matches. It’s two fully attacking teams and our games this season have been entertaining. I can’t remember playing them when it’s been boring.

"In my way of thinking, if I tried everything I could to win it and it didn’t happen, it’s okay. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it’s not possible."

Anfield Watch Verdict

This is by far the biggest game of the season. Even though neither coach will admit it, this could decide who wins the title race. The mental impact of losing or winning the game will be massive for each team.

If you win the game then all the momentum is with you. However, if you lose it then the players could feel like they've dropped the ball massively.

Saying that, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp are two of the best coaches ever and if their side does lose on Sunday, then they'll try their hardest to close the gap once again.

Looking at each other's remaining Premier League fixtures after Sunday's game, Man City definitely have the easier run-in on paper.

Pep's side will face Brighton, Watford, Wolves, Leeds United, Newcastle United, West Ham United & Aston Villa after the Liverpool game.

On the flip side, Klopp's side will have to play Manchester United, Everton, Newcastle United, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Southampton and Wolves to put an end to the season.

Even though the Reds have a tougher end to the season, if they beat City on Sunday then the momentum will be massive and it will have the fans and players believing that Liverpool can win their 20th league title.
