“I think Liverpool will just win" - Jamie Carragher ahead of Man United clash

Pundit Jamie Carragher has given his prediction for tonight's Premier League clash between Manchester United and Liverpool.

Both sides are yet to secure a victory in the early stages of the 2022-23 campaign. However, Carragher believes that Liverpool will defeat Manchester United 2-1.

The clash will kick-off at 8:00pm BST at Old Trafford.

“I think Liverpool will just win, I think it will be tough. I think Liverpool will win 2-1, I can see United getting a goal I can," he told the Sky Sports Football Podcast, as quoted by HITC.

"The atmosphere there, the high line, they have pace in behind. I don’t think Liverpool have been defending well this season in the three games they’ve had.

"There have been a lot of opportunities for the opposition. I can see United scoring, but I think Liverpool have enough to get a couple of goals."

Liverpool competed for the quadruple last season. Manchester United did not even get close to winning a trophy.

So, as things stand, the Reds are a far better side than the Red Devils. But, form goes out the door in big games.

It is common knowledge that both Liverpool and Manchester United hate each other. We are expecting a fierce game of football.

Both teams desperately need a victory. Therefore, we completely agree with Carragher's prediction.

Neither Liverpool or Manchester United will want to lose. With that being the case, we can see the Premier League fixture being a tight contest.

However, Jurgen Klopp's side should have too much quality for Erik ten Hag's team.
