"I think" - Jurgen Klopp provides an injury update on Fabinho ahead of the FA Cup final
Jurgen Klopp has spoken about Fabinho's injury that he picked up against Aston Villa.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Klopp seemed confident that Fabinho could be fit enough to feature against Chelsea on Saturday in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
"I think he will [be OK, for the FA Cup final] but I do not know. We have to have a further assessment," said Klopp.
“He has a good feeling and that gives me a better feeling than I had and I took him off. What that means, I don’t know yet.”
Anfield Watch Verdict
Fabinho has probably been one of our most important players this season, especially in midfield.
He didn't start off great against Aston Villa on Tuesday, losing the ball a few times and giving away unnecessary free-kicks.
Unfortunately, the Brazilian couldn't stay on to redeem his earlier sloppiness as in the 30th minute he went down holding his hamstring.
Luckily, Liverpool's skipper Henderson was a call away and he came on and settled the game down a lot, proving to a lot of people that his best position is in that six role.
Reds fans will be hoping that Fabinho's injury isn't too serious as Fab is going to be huge if we want to win our remaining four games of the season, especially the FA Cup final and Champions League final.
As good as Hendo was today, the Brazilian is the best defensive midfielder in world football and his class can't be replicated by any of our midfielders.
Hopefully Klopp is correct and it is nothing to worry about. If he is actually injured then Liverpool's midfield will need to work overtime to not make his absence felt.
