Jurgen Klopp has revealed he's looking forward to a "massive game" when Liverpool take on Arsenal this Saturday in the Premier League.

The Reds can return to the top of the table when they meet the Gunners this weekend, but only a victory would see them lead the league at Christmas.

While Arsenal have won just one of their last three games, a comfortable 2-0 victory over Brighton last time out, they remain a supreme threat, especially given the individual quality they boast.

It promises to be a clash of titans on Merseyside in a fixture that rarely fails to live up to expectation. In fact, Liverpool have scored 39 goals in their last 13 home games against the Gunners, averaging three per match.

Jurgen Klopp is excited by the prospect of facing last season's Premier League runners-up, stating the significance of such an enormous fixture.

Asked how he feels about occasions such as these, Klopp joked: "I love it the most when you are first and 55 points ahead! Then it is a pure joy!

He added: "But it's all fine – I love it. It's how I said, we are in the position we are and it's not that bad. We play a super-strong team; we play a team that played an exceptional last season and coming back is even better than last season.

"Bringing in top players, they had already a top team, bringing in really good players to improve the team. They did that, went through the Champions League [group stage] pretty easily and played a really good Premier League campaign, so [it's] a massive game.

"It's great, great to have them, great to meet them. We met quite frequently, obviously, and it's good but we have to make sure we make it a proper home game, a proper Anfield experience. That's all I want."

Klopp has called on the crowd to be as thunderous as possible when Arsenal visit on Saturday, the German wanting the visitors to receive the usual Anfield treatment.

Liverpool will be hoping to climb back to the summit of the Premier League table come the end of the weekend, with a trip to Burnley on Boxing Day to follow.
