“I haven’t seen" - Cesc Fabregas on Trent Alexander-Arnold
Former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has recently waxed lyrical about Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The Scouser is a superb player going forward. Alexander-Arnold has found the back of the net 13 times and registered 62 assists in 229 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.
The 23-year-old's range of passing allows him to hurt teams from out wide. Fabregas has stated that he has not seen a full-back with Alexander-Arnold's skillset since Dani Alves.
“I haven’t seen a full-back with this range of passing since Dani Alves,” he tweeted, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.
Anfield Watch Verdict
Alexander-Arnold is a very good footballer. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has had plenty of good things to say about the right-back in recent times.
As quoted by LFC Transfer Room, he said the following about Alexander-Arnold back in January: “I don’t know anybody who’s like Trent who is a right-back and is that decisive and influential and all these kind of things. The package of Trent is insane."
For the full-back to take his game to another level, he has to improve defensively.
Alexander-Arnold is not a dreadful defender, but he does have a mistake in him. The Scouser is only 23 years of age, so he is far from the finished article, which is obviously exciting.
We believe that Alexander-Arnold could captain the club one day. The full-back is a boyhood fan of the Reds and he leads by example on and off the pitch.
Jordan Henderson is currently the club captain, so Alexander-Arnold won't be leading the team anytime soon.
Hopefully the youngster can continue to grow as a person and as a footballer.
