"I have a trophy cabinet" - Mohamed Salah on staying motivated

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has revealed how he stays motivated.

The Reds signed the Egyptian international from Roma for a transfer fee of £37.80 million back in the summer of 2017.

Since then, Salah has gone on to score 156 goals and register 63 assists in 254 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

The 29-year-old has also won six major honours with the Reds and a number of individual awards.

Despite achieving plenty in the game, Salah remains motivated to add to his success. The forward has revealed how he keeps himself going.

"I have a trophy cabinet, and I made sure to have space for one more," he told PFA after being named the Men's Player of the Year last night, as quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter.

"I always keep space for something. The Golden Boot (recently won by Salah) was the same, I kept two spaces for the Golden Boot. I will keep another space!

"I'm always keeping space to try and imagine the trophy that's going to come there."

The top players are always driven despite what they have already achieved in the game.

Salah will go down as one of the club's greatest ever players. When the forward first arrived at Liverpool from Roma, we did not expect him to develop into a world-class footballer.

Salah's numbers were decent at Roma (34 goals and 22 assists in 82 appearances), but not exceptional.

So, it has been incredible to watch Salah become one of the best players in the world.

Hopefully the 29-year-old continues performing well for Liverpool in the years to come. Only time will tell if that is to be the case.

For the time being, we are going to sit back and enjoy the break from club football.
