"I don’t recognise him" - Pundit claims Liverpool man has recently improved
Pundit David James has recently been talking about Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas.
The Reds signed the 25-year-old from Olympiacos for a transfer fee of €13 million back in the summer of 2020.
Despite the fact that Tsimikas has only been at Anfield for just over a year, James believes that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has improved the Greece international.
James further added that Tsimikas' performances this season suggest that he has been a Red for three years.
James told Stadium Astro the following (03:37): “Tsimikas is probably the best example currently [of players Klopp has improved]. He starts this season as if he’s been here for three years! I was watching games and I’m like, ‘this guy…..I don’t recognise him.”
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Tsimikas is behind Andy Robertson in the pecking order.
Despite that being the case, the left-back has been given a decent opportunity to play for Liverpool's first-team in the early parts of the 2021-22 campaign.
As James has pointed out, Tsimikas has taken his opportunity well.
The left-back has been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.16 across the Premier League (six appearances) and Champions League (three appearances) this season.
Hopefully Tsimikas can keep on performing well until the end of the season.
