"I don’t care about criticism" - Scotland manager defends Andy Robertson

Scotland's manager Steve Clarke has defended his captain Andy Robertson after he was drinking with his Liverpool teammates during the victory parade.

Speaking before Scotland take on Ukraine in the World Cup Qualifiers, Mail Sport, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, relayed Clarke's praise for what his captain and Liverpool achieved this season.

“Liverpool had a great season. When you look at two of the four major trophies in the cabinet, they missed out on the league by a point and one goal did them in the Champions League final. They were very close to the Quadruple," said Clarke.

“They’ve had a great season. Finishing with two disappointments is something you learn to deal with as a professional player. It was the right thing to do, the right thing to celebrate with his team and his supporters on the back of a fantastic season for Liverpool.

“[Andy Robertson] has joined us in a great place and that’s all I am concerned about. I don’t care about criticism. It won’t bother Andy and it certainly won’t bother me.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

If you know anything about Robertson then you'd know he acts drunk even when he isn't drunk. The left-back is the comedian of the group and most of the Liverpool squad have confirmed that.

If he had a few pints during the victory parade then so what. For him, the season has finished and he wants to relax.

Yes, Scotland have a big game tonight but as their captain, Robbo would not have gone overboard and he's the utmost professional.

Thankfully Clarke defended his captain and called out the ridiculous claims.

Hopefully the Liverpool left-back can prove all the haters wrong and beat Ukraine this evening to send Scotland to the World Cup Qualifiers final against Wales.
