Pundit Noel Whelan has given his opinion on Arsenal winger and reported Liverpool target Bukayo Saka.

The 47-year-old believes that the England international would be a good signing for the Reds. Whelan is under the impression that Saka would suit the system that Liverpool currently play.

Whelan told Football Insider the following: “Absolutely, I can see him at Liverpool.

"I don’t think it was that long ago that they were trying to tempt him over to Anfield when he was running out of contract at Arsenal.

“We have seen the development in Saka – he’s now one of the best wingers in the Premier League.

“The way he gets on the ball, the way he dictates a game, he’s very much a Liverpool style player.

“However, it seems to be that Mikel Arteta is building something really quite special at Arsenal right now. I’m sure the club won’t want to let him go for any money and show their strength in the market.

“They’ll want to show they’re not a selling club and really continue with this rebuild.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Saka would be a terrific signing for Liverpool. The winger can seriously play football.

Saka has found the back of the net seven times and registered four assists in 22 appearances for Arsenal this season.

Also, the England international is only 20 years of age. Who knows how good Saka could become.

However, the promising youngster would cost the club a bit of money.

Saka's contract expires in June 2024. Transfermarkt value the attacker at €65 million.

But, there is no denying that Saka would be worth every penny. The winger is Premier League proven and is likely to improve over time.

Saka would ultimately be a long-term investment for Liverpool. The hard part regarding the potential transfer will be convincing Arsenal to sell to a rival.
