"I am really happy that everyone saw it" - Klopp on Newcastle's tactics

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given his opinion on Newcastle United's tactics last night.

The Magpies were on a mission to waste as much time as possible against the Reds at Anfield.

However, Liverpool still managed to secure a 2-1 victory thanks to a stoppage-time winner from Fabio Carvalho.

Klopp had the following to say about Eddie Howe's side post-game.

"I am really happy that everyone saw it tonight. It was hard to take. It was a difficult game anyway, Newcastle invested a lot to close us down. They were close to getting pretty much everything for it," he told the BBC, as quoted by AW's Twitter account.

"Of course everyone wants to see a football game and when it is interrupted that often it is not nice for anybody.

"The only chance we have, not just for this game but in general, the referee has to pick earlier yellow cards. I don't know when the kicking the ball away stopped being a yellow card. When did this rule die?

"I had no idea if that tonight it was on purpose or if they players really had to go down because slightly injured. I don't know."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Newcastle United got what they deserved in the end. The Magpies did everything possible to disrupt the flow of the game.

But, Liverpool had the last laugh in the end. The Newcastle players were even booed off the pitch by the Anfield faithful, which tells you everything that you need to know.

The Reds moved into fifth-place on the Premier League table last night. Liverpool have won their past two top-flight fixtures.

Hopefully the Reds can kick on and chase down league leaders Arsenal. Liverpool are seven points behind the Gunners.
