“I am prepared to play in any position" - Diogo Jota looks ahead

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has spoken about his future.

The Portugal international has been a superb player for the Reds since joining the club back in 2020.

Jota has found the back of the net 34 times and registered 14 assists in 92 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

However, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp possesses plenty of options in attack (Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Roberto Firmino).

So, Jota isn't always the first player picked on the teamsheet. But, the 25-year-old has made it clear that he is happy playing anywhere across the frontline in order to gain minutes out on the pitch.

Jota told A Bola the following: “I am prepared to play in any position that the coach thinks I am important.

"The centre-forward, the winger, the number 10. I’ll give 100% to anyone, that’s who I am.

"In recent games I have played more behind Darwin, we won one and lost another (Rangers and Arsenal) and we will have another chance."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Jota is such a flexible player that he is capable of playing anywhere across the frontline. We really like what the attacker brings to Klopp's team.

Jota is quick, skillful and a good finisher. The 25-year-old also presses and looks to win the ball back. There is a lot to like about Jota as a player.

The Portugal international is contracted until the summer of 2027. So, Liverpool clearly value Jota as a player.
