How to watch Mohamed Salah's AFCON opener on TV

Mohamed Salah’s Egypt will begin their quest for Africa Cup of Nations glory on Sunday as they take on Mozambique.

The Reds winger will look to help the Pharaohs succeed in the Ivory Coast, in a tournament his nation has won on seven previous occasions.

After booking their ticket to AFCON by topping a qualifying section that included Ethiopia, Guinea and Malawi, Egypt have been drawn into Group B alongside Cape Verde, Ghana and Mozambique.

Mozambique are first up for the Egyptians, who will no doubt be looking cause an upset on their opening night.

Kicking off at 5pm GMT on Sunday, the game will be aired on Sky Sports for UK viewers, with coverage starting at 4:55pm.

For viewers in the USA, the match will be available to watch on Fubo, Fanatiz, and beIN Sports.

Throwing forward from the Mozambique clash, Egypt meet Ghana at 8pm GMT on January 18 in their second group game, before seeing out the group stage against Cape Verde, which starts at 8pm GMT on January 22.

All three of those games will be played at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan.

However, Salah is not the only Liverpool star to be kicking off an international tournament this Sunday.

Wataru Endo captains Japan as his side look to go one better in this year's Asian Cup, having been bettered in the final four years ago.

Drawn into Group D alongside Indonesia, Iraq and Vietnam, Japan kick off their campaign against Vietnam on Sunday evening.

The tie will be played at Al Thumama Stadium in Doha, with kick-off at 11:30am.

For UK viewers, the game is available to watch on subscription service TrillerTV, formerly known as FITE, while the game will exclusively stream on Paramount+ in the US.

Japan's second match versus Iraq takes place on Friday January 19 at Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, before the Samurai Blue return to Doha's Al Thumama Stadium to conclude their group fixtures against Indonesia on Wednesday January 24.
