How much Sadio Mane is set to earn in Saudi Arabia compared to Firmino and Henderson

Sadio Mane is set for a medical ahead of a transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.

The Liverpool legend left Anfield for Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022 but is already on the move again, after an underwhelming debut campaign in the Bundesliga.

The 2022 Ballon d'Or runner up scored 12 times in 38 appearances in all competitions for Bayern, but struggled in the system under Julian Nagelsmann and his successor Thomas Tuchel.

An injury that saw him miss the 2022 World Cup disrupted Mane's season, while a fight with teammate Leroy Sane after the Champions League defeat to Manchester City turned it into a nightmare.

Despite a lukewarm year in Germany, Bayern Munich could even make a profit on Mane, with PIF-backed Al Nassr prepared to pay £24m for the 31-year-old, according to Sky Sports.

While it was widely believed that Liverpool sold Mane to Bayern for around £27.5m last summer, one report has now suggested that the deal included £7.5m in performance-related bonuses, which, suffice to say, the forward has not met.

What is Sadio Mane's Al Nassr salary?

For his part, 31-year-old Mane is – as you might expect – set for a huge contract in the Middle East, with Sky reporting that he will earn around £34m a year – a weekly wage of £650k – all free of income tax.

If he fulfils the full four years of the contract, Mane stands to earn a total of around £136m.

His contract with Bayern saw him take home £360k a week – the highest of any Bundesliga player.

Mane is far from the only ex-Liverpool star to be lured to Saudi Arabia this summer. In fact, from the Reds' Champions League winning final winning starting lineup in 2019, it looks like four will be playing their football in the Saudi Pro League this coming season.

Jordan Henderson has signed for Al Ettifaq, Roberto Firmino has joined Al Ahli and Fabinho is set for a £40m move to Al Ittihad.

While it was initially reported that Henderson had been offered a salary of £700k a week to join manager Steven Gerrard in the oil-rich city of Dammam, the real figure appears to be closer to £350k a week.

Meanwhile, reports put Firmino's salary at €20m (£17m) a year – equivalent to £327k a week.

Mane's salary compared to Al Nassr teammates

Mane is far from the only big name at Al Nassr, and the 2019 Premier League Golden Boot winner will have stellar company in Riyadh.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the club's captain, having famously joined after his contract with terminated with Manchester United last season. In addition, Marcelo Brozovic, Alex Telles, David Ospina and Seko Fofana have all been tempted from European football.

Unsurprisingly, Ronaldo's pay packet is the biggest of all, not just at Al Nassr, but across the Saudi Pro League. The former Real Madrid star makes an obscene £177m a year from his basic salary in Saudi Arabia — more than five times that of Mane's deal.

The amount puts Ronaldo at the top of the highest-paid athletes in the world, according to Forbes.

Meanwhile, Croatia star Brozovic is understood to earn a similar salary to Mane at around £35m per year, while Fofana is reportedly on an almost meagre sounding £13m a year.
