"He's looking" - Thierry Henry praises aspect of Mohamed Salah's game
Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has praised Mohamed Salah's ability to set up a teammate in front of goal.
The winger has been labelled as a 'selfish' player by many people in the past. However, Salah had a terrific 2021-22 campaign from an assists point of view.
The Egyptian international registered 16 assists in 51 appearances for Liverpool. Therefore, Henry has been full of praise for Salah.
He told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (28/05/22 at 7:30pm BST) the following: “Also assists, he has been doing that recently a lot, especially to (Sadio) Mane.
“He’s looking to give the ball, more often than not.
“Before, he used to try and to bulldoze his way in all the time. But now he is looking to have those little assists.”
Anfield Watch Verdict
Salah is far from a selfish player and the aforementioned figures back up that particular argument.
The winger was also very good in front of goal this season. Salah found the back of the net 31 times in 51 matches.
The 29-year-old is out of contract at the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign. With that being the case, we are hopeful that Salah and Liverpool can agree on new terms.
The Egyptian international has confirmed that he is not planning on leaving the club this summer.
In regards to the long-term, it has been reported that Liverpool have presented Salah with a new deal. But, he wants more money than what the Reds are prepared to pay him.
We love Salah as a player. He has been exceptional for Liverpool over the years. Therefore, it would be heartbreaking to lose him after next season.
Only time will tell where Salah's long-term future lies.
