Liverpool's newest signing Darwin Nunez has revealed that he plans on talking to Uruguay teammate Luis Suarez about the club.

Suarez represented the Reds between 2011-14. In that time, the striker scored 82 goals and registered 46 assists in 133 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

With that being the case, Nunez, who is also a centre-forward, said he's going to ask Suarez for some advice heading into his debut campaign with the Reds.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, he told the club's official website the following: "I've not had a chance to be in touch with him just yet. But I'm sure when everything comes out on social media, I'll give him a call or I'll send him a photo that I've taken where he's there in the background in a picture.

“I'll send that to him and we'll have a bit of a chat and I'll ask him lots of questions so he can offer his support and help because he's a real reference to me because he's a Uruguayan footballer who made history at Liverpool.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

As we have already pointed out, Suarez was a superb player for Liverpool. Therefore, we can see why Nunez plans on talking to the 35-year-old.

We wish the club's latest signing all the best ahead of the 2022-23 season.

On another note, it was a sad day when Suarez departed Liverpool. The Uruguayan possessed so much natural talent. He was a joy to watch.

Liverpool ended up selling Suarez to Barcelona for a transfer fee of £73.55 million.

The forward then made the move to Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2020. However, he is currently without a club.
