"He’d be best suited" - Pundit claims that Celtic forward would be a good signing for Reds

Pundit Pat Nevin has recently been talking about Celtic forward Kyogo Furuhashi.

The former Scotland international believes that the 26-year-old is good enough to play for either Liverpool or Manchester City.

However, Nevin further added that Kyogo would more than likely have to represent a Premier League club lower down on the table before signing with one of England's top teams.

It is important to note that Liverpool have not genuinely been linked with a move for the Japan international.

Nevin told Football Scotland: "There’s a lot of clubs that will be watching him right this second. I think he’d be best suited for a Liverpool or a Manchester City. He’d work really, really well there.

"I suspect he would probably have to take a step before he made that one. He would go to one of the other clubs lower down the table, similar to the way [Virgil] Van Dijk did. From Southampton to Liverpool."

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Kyogo has been superb for Celtic. The forward has scored 16 goals and registered five assists in 25 appearances for the Scottish Premiership club.

Kyogo has also been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.17 across the 2021-22 club campaign.

The aforementioned figures highlight that the 26-year-old possesses plenty of quality. Therefore, we would not be against Liverpool making a move for Kyogo in the near future.

However, only time will tell if that is to be the case.
