Luis Diaz's mother has detailed how her son has settled in since joining Liverpool in the January transfer window from FC Porto.

In an article by Semana, as cited by Sport Witness, Diaz's mother talked about how her son has changed since he signed for Liverpool in January.

"He is maturing; I see him more serene in everything he does, very disciplined. He is very serious and responsible in all his work, and that’s why he has done so well. God gives him blessings so that he can continue to excel.

“He is loving with his dad, with everyone, we talk every day. He tells me, ‘mummy, you’re the best mummy in the world; I love you very much'.

“He doesn’t hold grudges against anyone because he’s always been simple since he was a child, humble; I’ve seen him the same way since he was a child.

“He tells me, ‘the manager likes me; when I play my games, he hugs me’, and he has also been able to get along with his teammates. They welcome him for being the way he is.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

‘The manager likes me; when I play my games, he hugs me’. It's nice to see Diaz getting the Jurgen Klopp hug treatment.

Since signing for the Reds in January for a reported fee of £36m from FC Porto, the Colombian has probably been Liverpool's best player of the year so far.

His tally of five goals and four assists for Liverpool doesn't show how important Diaz has been since he joined.

Out of our entire front four of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Diaz, the Colombian is now undroppable after his performances this year.

It's also very likely that he will start the FA Cup final against Chelsea and the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
