"He is absolutely sensational" - Gary Neville on current Liverpool player

Former Manchester United full-back Gary Neville has recently had plenty of good things to say about Liverpool winger Luis Diaz.

The Colombia international has only been at Anfield for just over a month. But, Diaz has hit the ground running.

The 25-year-old has scored two goals in 10 appearances for Liverpool's first-team. Diaz has also been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.70 in the Premier League (five matches).

Neville can't believe just how quickly the winger has settled into life at Anfield.

The pundit said the following on Sky Sports Premier League (7:04pm, March 14, 2022): “Liverpool have five players upfront who are an absolute joke.

“This lad, Diaz, honestly, I saw him for the first time live in the Carabao Cup final (against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium), I couldn’t believe what I was watching for a player who has just entered into English football. He is absolutely sensational.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

We have also been surprised by just how quickly Diaz has settled into life at Liverpool.

It is common knowledge that most foreign players do take some time to adjust to a new culture/league. Roberto Firmino is a good example of an overseas player that initially struggled at Anfield.

Liverpool signed the Brazilian from Hoffenheim for a transfer fee of €41 million ahead of the 2015-16 campaign. However, Firmino could not cement his place in the team until the second half of the season.

But, that has not been an issue for Diaz. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has a track record of improving players.

We don't want to put too much pressure on Diaz. But, with Klopp at the helm, we only expect the Colombia international to improve in the near future.

We wish Diaz all the best for the remainder of the season.
