Jamie Carragher has spoken about the impact Liverpool's newest signing, Luis Diaz, has already had on Jurgen Klopp's side.

Speaking to CBS Sports, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Carragher said that Diaz has been a 'revelation' since signing for Liverpool in January.

“He has been a revelation. It feels to me that he has transformed Liverpool, people are now looking at their squad and saying ‘they have a great squad’. You have seen the goals he has scored already and how brave he has been.”

“He’s come in and he is the first person who has ever put Sadio Mane, in the last four or five years, under real pressure for his position. Sadio Mane has now, at times, moved to centre-forward because of the pressure from Diaz in that position.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

We're used to Liverpool signings taking months to adapt to Klopp's play style. We've seen it with Andy Robertson, Fabinho and others.

However, the Colombian has come straight into the first-team set-up and put his stamp on the squad. Every time he plays in a Liverpool shirt, he impresses.

Even if he isn't scoring as much as he'd like, his general style and competitive nature have made him a fan favourite amongst Liverpool supporters already.

Carragher isn't the only one who has praised Diaz either, Klopp has been full of admiration since he joined the club, saying that 'he feels at home' already, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

"He is pretty special. He is incredible, the speed he has - technically he is outstanding. He is a fantastic worker on the training ground. He can't stop smiling. He is a great boy. He feels at home.

"Now he wants to go from here and it is really nice to have him around."
