Liverpool duo Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton stole the show for England's under-21s during a 5-1 demolition of Azerbaijan's under-21s on Friday afternoon.

Lee Carsley's side took to the field for their sixth game in U21 Euro 2025 qualifying and moved level on points with group leaders Ukraine ahead of their clash with Azerbaijan next Tuesday.

England breezed to victory in Baku and it was two Liverpool players in Elliott and Morton - the latter currently on loan at Hull City - who were among those who impressed most in a rampant win.

HARVEY ELLIOTT AND TYLER MORTON SPARKLE FOR ENGLAND

It didn't take too long for England to take the lead in Azerbaijan and it was 20-year-old Elliott who put the Three Lions in front, with Morton the man who provided the assist for his opener.

Morton lifted a wonderful and accurate ball over the head of the Azerbaijan left-back and into the penalty area, with Elliott taking the ball down delicately and prodding beyond the goalkeeper with little fuss.

It was a well executed goal from the Liverpool duo, with Morton again involved in England's third. It was the midfielder's corner that was headed goalward by Taylor Harwood-Bellis, with the ball rebounding off his Hull City teammate Jaden Philogene on its way into the net.

Elliott then grabbed his second of the game and England's fourth with 67 minutes on the clock, converting a cutback from close range after some good positioning from Liverpool's No.19 in the box.

Jarell Quansah was also part of the squad that travelled to Azerbaijan, but was an unused substitute in the capital.

Elliott has now taken his England under-21s tally to eight goals in 19 matches following his latest brace, with the Liverpool man having netted seven of those strikes in his last five appearances.

Morton has also been impressive in an England jersey and now has a goal and two assists in his three under-21s outings.
