Harvey Elliott has praised Mo Salah for taking on an extra job behind the scenes at Liverpool that he 'didn't have to do'. The Egyptian is one of a kind.

There can be no doubt that Harvey Elliott feels privileged to work with Mo Salah. The youngster talked to Liverpoolfc.com this week and praised the senior star.

In particular, Elliott praised how Salah puts in extra work with the young players. It's clearly struck him, as it's not a job that Salah has had to take on.

"He's an icon on and off the pitch and it would be easy to just focus on himself and keep making sure he's breaking records and so on, but he takes time out of his day to check in on us, to make sure we know that if we need anything, he's always there to give us pointers," said Elliott.

"For instance, although he was at the AFCON with Egypt, he messaged me after the Arsenal game in the last round of the FA Cup saying, 'How did you find it?' and so on. They are the things he doesn't have to do but he's just a great human being and always wants the best for everyone.

"To have him in the team and to see what he's accomplished is just unbelievable and it's a pleasure to share the pitch with him."

Salah is certainly one of a kind. Not only is he one of the greatest goalscorers Liverpool have ever had - and the Premier League, for that matter - but his work-rate, his efforts with other players, they all add up to a player you couldn't possibly expect.

The Reds had no idea they were securing a player this valuable when signing him from AS Roma in 2017. And not only have they received years of brilliance from Salah, but his effect on the younger players will only leave a bigger legacy at Anfield - and one that extends for years to come.
