Harvey Elliott hails team spirit in what feels like a 'different' season

Harvey Elliott has provided an exciting update on the atmosphere within the Liverpool dressing room ahead of this weekend's clash with West Ham United.

After kicking off their Europa League campaign in triumphant style against LASK on Thursday, the Reds are hoping to make it six wins on the bounce on Sunday, continuing their strong start to the season.

After a summer of turnover, especially in the midfield area, Jurgen Klopp recently shared his enthusiasm on what he referred to as 'Liverpool 2.0', with the German shepherding the club into what many fans have described as a new era.

Elliott has echoed this sentiment, and has observed that within Liverpool's new-look squad, there is a feeling of hunger and optimism about what the future holds.

"This season feels different, the hunger and desire, and we just need to keep putting in these performances and keep coming away with three points," Elliott said.

At the centre of Liverpool's early success has been their fresh-faced midfield, with the arrivals of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch adding much-needed depth and quality to Liverpool's ranks.

With the quartet only in the fledgling phase of their respective Liverpool careers, Elliott says he and his colleagues have been keen to help the new arrivals get settled to their new surroundings, insisting that success on the pitch only comes if inter-team relationships are strong off it.

He added: "We are just trying to bed [new players] into the team and try to make them feel welcome as quickly as possible and try to show them the Liverpool way.

"We are a team and whoever steps up plays and you have to know what it means to play for Liverpool and they have got that instantly. We just need to keep bedding them in and keep making them feel welcome.

“It is a team at the end of the day and the quicker we become a team and have those relationships with one another and become a family then the better and more successful we will be quicker."
