Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has recently praised reported Reds target and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

The Englishman has been a solid performer for Borussia Dortmund since joining the club back in the summer of 2020.

Bellingham has scored 10 goals and registered 17 assists in 86 appearances for the Bundesliga side.

The 18-year-old has also been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.23 across the 2021-22 campaign.

Therefore, we can understand why Jota spoke so positively about Bellingham during a recent interview.

As quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter, the Portugal international told the Liverpool Echo the following: “He is such a good player. I think he will be one of the greatest players in the future."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Jota is spot on in his assessment of Bellingham. As we have already pointed out, the 18-year-old is a serious talent.

Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels believes that Bellingham is the most mature youngster he has ever seen.

"Jude is the most mature 18-year-old player I've ever seen. He's already a leader and also one of the most vocal in the team,” he told Bundesliga.com.

“He's a fantastic footballer, and a fantastic guy. I think I've told him about 25 times now that I just love him. He's on his way to the very top, there's no doubt about that.”

We would love to see Liverpool make a move for Bellingham at some stage. The England international's contract does not expire until June 2025.

Bellingham possesses a current market value of £67.50 million, which highlights that he won't come cheap.

But, only time will tell if Liverpool are genuinely interested in the midfielder. For the time being, we are going to sit back and enjoy the remainder of the season.
