Valencia boss suggest no agreement in place with Liverpool for Mamardashvili
Liverpool do not appear to be any closer to sealing their first signing of the summer transfer window as there is no agreement in place with Valencia for Giorgi Mamardashvili.
It has been widely reported that the Reds want to bring in the goalkeeper as they seek a long-term replacement for Alisson Becker and Anfield Watch understands the Georgia international rejected a transfer to Chelsea earlier in the window as he favours a move to Merseyside.
Interestingly, after The Times stated Liverpool had stepped up their interest in Mamardashvili, Spanish publication Relovo then claimed a bid of £30m had been submitted with the stopper lined up for a season-long loan with Bournemouth in order to gain some valuable Premier League experience.
Whilst that might be the case, Valencia certainly are yet to issue a response and therefore Ruben Baraja is planning to call upon his number one keeper the for his side's opening game of the 2024/25 season against Barcelona on Saturday.

No Mamardashvili agreement
Referencing Javi Guerra's collapsed move to Atletico Madrid, Baraja has effectively suggested that no deal has been reached between Valencia and Liverpool.
"Javi Guerra was almost defined, he was about to travel and there was an agreement between clubs," he said, as per Football Espana. "I’m not aware of Giorgi being in the same situation. Tomorrow we will count on him as one more."
Having said that, Baraja hasn't exactly ruled out the prospect of Mamardashvili leaving before the summer transfer window closes.
"It’s very simple. He is our player and as long as there is no other different situation I am not going to evaluate anything. I’m not going to enter into hypotheses," he added. "Giorgi is a Valencia player and is ready to participate.
"When the market is open, clubs buy players, transfer… I am focused on tomorrow’s game, he is here, he is ready to participate. We cannot talk about situations that have not yet occurred."
