FPL: Which Liverpool players to pick up ahead of gameweek 11
Here are the Liverpool players we recommend picking up ahead of FPL gameweek 11. The Reds travel to play Luton Town on Sunday.
Liverpool are attacking in style right now. Only Aston Villa and Newcastle United boast more goals than they do in the Premier League this season - and in fact, they're the only two teams with superior goal differences to the Reds.
We mention that because next up for Liverpool is Luton Town. The newly promoted side have shipped 20 goals in their opening 10 games, picking up just five points as a result.
In other words, this could be a game where the Liverpool forwards feast and that might want to influence your FPL picks this week.
On top of that, Liverpool's front-three seems fairly predictable for the weekend, too, with two of them making our three recommended picks for the week.
Of course, we're not including Mohamed Salah because, quite honestly, he should just be a recommended pick every week. No player has more overall points than the Egyptian right now after his eight goals to start the campaign. He's quickly becoming the top playmaker in the league, too.
But we'll pick three more interesting recommendations here for FPL gameweek 11 (you should really just have Salah).
Darwin Nunez (IN)
Darwin Nunez didn't start against Bournemouth in midweek but he did get on to score a sensational winner for Liverpool. The Uruguayan is becoming a lethal matchwinner, we've got to say.
And the fact that he didn't start makes him a pretty reasonable prediction to start at Luton - something the Hatters just won't want to see.
Nunez is on fire right now, scoring in his last three games and assisting in the two before that. The striker averages a goal every 65 minutes this season and it feels inevitable that he scores against Luton.
Of course, anyone who's seen Nunez play now knows he'll almost certainly have a stinker before bagging a hattrick against Manchester City later this month. But clear, logical thinking tells us he'll do well against Luton. Surely.
Diogo Jota (IN)
Diogo Jota played the least of any Liverpool forward against Bournemouth (Luis Diaz aside, of course). Klopp only gave him the last 10 minutes, in fact, and that surely sets him up for a start at Luton.
When Jota starts, he usually does score. He's done so on four of his last five, with the 2-0 win against Everton the only blank.
Of course, the Portugal international is also down as a midfielder this year. Well worth a go.
Kostas Tsimikas (IN)
We also recommended Kostas Tsimikas last week and we basically stand by the same reasons. He's dirt cheap, almost guaranteed to start, and is likely to grab a clean-sheet (much as he has in his previous two outings).
On top of that, Tsimikas should also get plenty of opportunities to deliver the ball into the box against Luton, presumably to a waiting Nunez. That combination could pay dividends on Sunday.
