FPL: Which Liverpool players should you pick or drop in Gameweek 12

In the final week of Premier League action before the November international break, there could be plenty of Fantasy Premier League wildcards on the horizon for managers.

International breaks are traditionally useful times to activate the wildcard chip, giving managers unlimited transfers to help rejuvenate their squads.

Unlike previous years, Liverpool assets are not quite as numerous this season, especially given the Reds' subpar defensive performances.

However, there are still some great options within Jurgen Klopp's side, and with a home clash against Brentford this weekend, there might be a number of Liverpool stars set to be transferred in.

So, which Liverpool players could it be worth taking a punt on?

MOHAMED SALAH (IN)

Those who decided to start the season without the Egyptian dynamo will be deeply regretting their decision now.

Unbelievably, Salah has returned in all but two games this season, averaging 7.7 points per match. Since Gameweek 5, the winger has brought home 62 points, managing five separate ten-point or greater hauls.

While Salah has risen in price, now sitting at £12.9m, he is still only owned by 45% of managers. That seems a ridiculously low number given the 31-year-old's consistency and quality, especially when it comes to FPL returns.

Salah has scored in four of his five home games this season, with Brentford's weekend visit likely to wet his appetite.

DARWIN NUNEZ (IN)

Now Liverpool's nailed-on No. 9 following his impressive performances this season, Darwin Nunez has the potential to return points for those who back him in FPL.

At just £7.5m with a 16.3% ownership, Nunez could be a more affordable route into the Liverpool attack.

Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota have all been heavily rotated this season, but Nunez has started three of Liverpool's last four games in the Premier League.

Nunez now has three goal contributions in his last four as well, racking up 21 points in the process. If the Uruguayan can find his killer touch, then he could explode.

Bar an away trip to Manchester City after the international break, Liverpool have games with Brentford (H), Fulham (H), Sheffield United (A) and Crystal Palace (A) on the horizon. There could be some returns for Nunez in that run.

Alisson (IN)

Despite Liverpool's defensive frailties, Alisson remains a set and forget in goal. Perhaps surprisingly, the Brazilian is the equal highest points scorer among goalkeepers this season, tied with Crystal Palace's Sam Johnstone on 49.

While other goalkeepers may be likely to keep more clean sheets that Alisson, Liverpool's porous defence can actually sometimes work in his favour in FPL.

That's because he faces a lot of efforts on his goal, often racking up save points as a result. When Liverpool do keep a clean sheet, Alisson is also more likely to get bonus points.

While he is the most expensive goalkeeper in FPL, sitting at £5.6m, he is never rotated and is always reliable on an individual level.

With the aforementioned 'simple' run of fixtures coming up for the Reds, he could prove a safe pair of hands.

KOSTAS TSIMIKAS (OUT)

When Andy Robertson was ruled out for months with injury, Kostas Tsimikas became a popular FPL option. The Greek Scouser is now £4.6m and owned by 10.7% of managers and may seem like a sensible introduction into your team.

However, despite two clean sheets against Everton and Nottingham Forest, Tsimikas' position in the starting lineup is not guaranteed.

The left-back was replaced by Joe Gomez in the lineup against Luton Town last weekend and his dismal showing against Toulouse means Klopp may be less likely to trust the defender moving forward.

While he is an inexpensive enough option to not prove too costly should he be benched, the lack of certainty around him will concern managers.

LUIS DIAZ (OUT)

Despite scoring a 95th-minute equaliser last weekend against Luton, the Colombian has remained very hit-and-miss in the Premier League so far this season.

Luis Diaz was a popular option at the start of the campaign given his price, but he has managed just 38 points this season despite his attacking threat.

The winger also started against Toulouse on Thursday, featuring for 80 minutes, meaning he could be susceptible to rotation against Brentford.

With Diogo Jota's wonderful solo goal against the French side, he could be Klopp's go-to option against the Bees.
