Four Liverpool players return ahead of huge Man City clash

Four Liverpool players have returned to training ahead of the Reds' huge clash with Man City this weekend. The Reds are a little bit stronger.

Liverpool have their most difficult game of the season this weekend as they travel to the Etihad Stadium to place Man City. It's not a place they typically find a positive result.

Making matters worse is an increasing injury list (though, that's actually something every team seems to be dealing with right now). The Reds have three long-term injuries in Thiago, Andy Robertson and Stefan Bajcetic. Thiago and Bajcetic haven't played at all this season.

But they also saw four players miss the Brentford win just before the international break. Ibrahima Konaté, Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones and Ryan Gravenberch were all absent with injuries.

Fortunately, those four are all now fit again. The club's official site reports that they were all in training on Thursday and it seems they'll be able to face City.

That increases Jurgen Klopp's options quite a lot, in both defence and midfield. It's also just a good counter to City's own injury 'luck' as the likes of Rodri and Erling Haaland, both of who had issues over the international break, are fit again.

Both teams still have their injuries, though. The Reds miss their aforementioned trio, while Pep Guardiola will be without Kevin De Bruyne into the New Year.

They have checks on Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes, too, after they had problems before and during the break.

Liverpool will feel a little more confident, then, as they have very close to a full squad to pick from as things stand. They'll need a confidence boost, too, as this is a horrible ground for them.

The Reds haven't won in the Premier League at the Etihad since 2015 - Klopp's first trip there. Hopefully, the returning players allow him to find the right strategy to correct that.
