"Find a way" - James Milner on Liverpool's victory over West Ham

Liverpool midfielder James Milner has praised his side for finding a way to defeat West Ham United 1-0 at Anfield last weekend.

Reds winger Sadio Mane scored 27 minutes into the Premier League clash. The Senegal international's goal was the difference between the two sides come the end of the match.

The Hammers played well against Liverpool. David Moyes' side created some decent opportunities (13 shots on goal) against Jurgen Klopp's team.

However, West Ham United could not find the back of the Anfield net. Milner, who came on as a substitute during the second half, took to social media to credit his side after the game.

The 36-year-old wrote: "Sometimes you just have to find a way to win. Three more points with a big game Tuesday to come."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Milner is spot on. When you are not at your best as a side, you simply need to find a way to win. Liverpool did that last weekend.

We also agree with Milner that the Reds have a massive Champions League game coming up on Tuesday night (20:00 local time). Liverpool will welcome Inter Milan to Anfield.

The Reds possess a 2-0 lead over the Serie A side heading into the second leg of the last-16 tie.

It is important that Liverpool don't let Inter Milan back into the game. An early goal for the Reds should put the tie to bed.

However, an early goal for Inter Milan would certainly put Liverpool on the back foot.

On another note, the Reds can win the Champions League this season. It was not that long ago that Klopp's side won the trophy (2019).

Therefore, Liverpool should be confident that they can defeat anyone within Europe.

But, only time will tell if the Reds are to win the biggest trophy in club football this season.
