Fans make clear Darwin Nunez choice vs Arsenal - poll results

Liverpool fans have spoken and made a clear decision on Darwin Nunez ahead of the clash with Arsenal this weekend. The Uruguayan is dividing opinion right now.

Darwin Nunez has not scored for Liverpool since November 1st. That came against Bournemouth and the striker has played 11 times now without finding the net.

That drew a lot of criticism last weekend as Liverpool struggled to score against Manchester United. The Reds dominated the game but failed to even find a clear path to go. Nunez, as the no.9, drew the majority of the flak.

Jurgen Klopp switched things up against West Ham United in the Carabao Cup as a result. Cody Gakpo came into the side as a centre-forward, with Nunez shifting out to the left-hand side.

Now, Nunez again didn't score and he failed to threaten the goal all that much. However, he still managed to show his quality and the Uruguayan was one of Liverpool's better performers on the night.

The Reds' no.9 created four chances (joint match-high) and won five tackles (match-high) as West Ham struggled to handle with with or without the ball. Nunez would ultimately provide the assist for Curtis Jones's superb first goal.

Next up, though, is a massive fixture against Arsenal and it's unclear what Klopp should do. Returning Nunez to the no.9 spot seems unlikely after the five goals in midweek - Gakpo feels likely to start there.

But what about the left? Luis Diaz is ready to step back into the team but Nunez's performance could see him start there once again.

We asked Liverpool fans on X whether Nunez should get the nod and start as the left-winger on Saturday. Over 8k of you responded to the short poll - and the answer was emphatic.

76.1 per cent of fans do want Nunez starting on the left against Arsenal. We didn't expect such an overwhelming majority to the question of whether he should start full stop, let alone at a specific position.

The faith in Nunez is still there, then, and he clearly impressed people against West Ham. We still feel Diaz will come back in but the momentum is clearly behind the Uruguayan to be Klopp's pick here.
