Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on Andre to Liverpool. The Reds reportedly want to sign the Brazilian midfielder.

Liverpool do still want to sign Fluminense midfielder, Andre, says Fabrizio Romano. The journalist has shared a new update on the player - and he expects movement in two weeks.

"He remains on their list," Romano told CaughtOffside. "But from what I'm hearing, it's not only Liverpool. There are more clubs from Europe trying to understand the conditions of the deal and what Fluminense would be open to accepting in January.

"I think in the next two weeks, the situation could be more clear because discussions can then take place to understand the final price, the intention of the player.

"But Liverpool are still interested. Let's see if they'll spend money because I think it'll be 35 to 40m euros. But he remains appreciated by those at Liverpool."

It was always expected that we'd hear something post-Copa Libertadores final. That final is essentially the reason Andre isn't already a Liverpool player, in fact.

Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt explained as much in the summer when talking to ESPN Brazil.

"Liverpool's Chief Executive [Billy Hogan] contacted me directly [about Andre]," said Bittencourt. "I replied to him: 'My friend, I don't sell players now and I don't deliver them now. If you want to buy now, and only get the player in January, we can start talking... Or if you want to wait until December, we can talk in December."

But Andre's performances will naturally draw further interest from elsewhere. The 22-year-old is a huge talent and now that he's actually available, teams are going to enquire.

The decision to hold off for the Copa Libertadores run is inspired from Bittencourt, then. Not only did Fluminense win the trophy but it'll likely increase Andre's price tag.

Let's see just how far Liverpool are willing to go to get him, then.
