Liverpool tipped for quiet window by Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano has said that Liverpool are unlikely to sign any players this month because Jurgen Klopp does not want to sign footballers that he does not feel are part of the long-term plan at the club.

The Reds are typically quiet when January rolls around.

We've seen a late flurry happen from them last year when we were in dire straits in terms of available defenders that were not injured, but most of the time the winter window has passed with little happening under Jurgen Klopp.

Indeed, the Reds are firmly of the opinion that top quality signings for the future cannot be attained for reasonable prices in the January window, and Romano has explained Klopp's view on it all:

"Jurgen Klopp wants new signings only if they are quality players, useful for the future of the project and not just for 6 months. That is why Liverpool are not expected to sign big names in January."

Anfield Watch Verdict

It's fair enough reasoning and it does appear that another quiet January transfer window is going to play out this month.

Hopefully, we won't have anywhere near the injury crisis we had last year and the Reds can see through this season with the current squad, hopefully winning a trophy along the way.

The Reds' squad is perhaps not the deepest it could be but there is still a lot of quality within it and the hope has to be that that yields some success in the next few months before a potentially busy summer market.
