He's already got a lot of things that he needs to sort out in order to reshape this Liverpool squad in order to suit Arne Slot's style of play and now on top of that he needs to find a replacement for one of the best right-backs in world football.
Trent Alexander-Arnold looks destined to join Real Madrid. There is nothing Liverpool can do to stand in his way anymore. When his contract expires it's almost certain that Alexander-Arnold will become a Real Madrid player.
Without a shadow of a doubt this will be a massive blow to Liverpool.
Alexander-Arnold is one of the best players to have played for the Reds in this modern era. He's been a lynchpin of the Jurgen Klopp golden team and there is simply no way to replace him.

So, this is what the Reds are planning to do according to Fabrizio Romano.
Liverpool's plans to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold
The reality is that Alexander-Arnold is in a league of his own. Currently, there is simply no right-back feasible for Liverpool to get who would even be in the same conversation as him.
This leaves Hughes with a bit of a headache. He'll have to find a way to replace Alexander-Arnold's position in the team as well as his impact on the pitch.
For the first Liverpool might already have a plan though according to Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Romano revealed that Liverpool plan to replace Alexander-Arnold's position as the first choice right-back at the club with Conor Bradley.
“In terms of right-back, what I’m hearing is that they are very happy with Conor Bradley. They believe that Conor Bradley can be part of this future Liverpool squad. They believe he’s a huge talent,” Romano said.
“The responsibility of being the starting right-back at Liverpool is going to be completely different, but they feel this boy has everything in place in order to become an important player for Arne Slot," Romano continued.
It would be a bold choice but it's the choice that makes the most sense. Bradley has shown so much promise since breaking through into this Liverpool team and he's ready to make that next step in his career.
Obviously, there will be some question marks over his injury record but that's something Liverpool will be confident they can fix long-term.
Meanwhile, Bradley won't be the sole option at right-back. Liverpool will likely look to recruit a back-up solution. Someone like Martim Fernandes, who is breaking through at Porto right now and looks like a class act could be an excellent option.
